Asia FAE - Field Applications Engineer

CHiL FAEs – Field Applications Engineer is a senior level position with executive level visibility and influence. The candidate will have had worked in system design prior to becoming an applications engineer. He/she will have a demonstrated system level knowledge of Motherboard Architectures and a keen understanding of Power Sub Systems for Desktop, Notebook, Server and Graphics boards. He/she will enjoy working with customers to solve technical issues routinely working in their lab to do so. They will be expected to vigorously promote customer ideas internally influencing CHiL Product Concepts and Roadmaps while simultaneously promoting CHiL Products and Technology externally with target customers. This position will be located near the most important customers and partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • VR design for ODM/OEM customers based on CHiL products
  • Customer technical support over product lifecycle – promote, design-in, ongoing
  • Assisting CHiL product definition
    • Capture target customers system requirements
    • Contribute ideas/insights to product definition process
    • Work with CHiL engineering to ensure product meets application requirement
  • Contribute to technical portions of customer RFI/RFP
  • Write application notes and white papers
  • Travel in the territory and to the Boston HQ, visit customers, vendors and partners
  • Train field sales including reps and distributors

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in power supply or analog IC Industry
  • Experience in
    • Design and trade-offs of System level power management & DC/DC converters
    • Evaluating and debugging power management ICs and circuits
    • PCB design and layout
  • Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Good oral and written skills (English & Mandarin)
  • Should have BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Extremely responsive, ready to jump on the most difficult customer issues instantly
  • Good at developing peer to peer relationships with engineering community at target customers particularly influencers and decision makers
  • Understands the strategic selling process and can help local sales close business
  • Ability to work with CHiL HQ in a friendly, win-win manner
