Applications Engineer

Description:

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in power supply design, preferably in computing devices like desktop PC, notebook, server and graphics boards and has a system level knowledge of their motherboard architecture. He/ she must enjoy working in the lab to deliver designs per customer application requirements based on CHiL products. Experience in AC/DC power solutions is also desirable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Customer support
    • Design, layout, build, debug & deliver customer application boards with VRs based on CHiL products
    • Function as key technical contact for CHiL FAEs supporting customer applications
    • Develop peer to peer relationships with lead engineers at out key customers
    • Review and contribute to technical portion of customer RFI/RFP
  • Documentation
    • Write Product Data Sheet (derived from engineering specification)
    • Generate necessary application notes
    • Generate appropriate white papers
  • Product Definition
    • Review CHiL product requirements
    • Contribute new ideas to product concepts
  • Lead Product training for field sales particularly FAEs

Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic
  • Good command of English – both oral and written skills (Mandarin is an asset)
  • Should have BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Should have 7-10+ years in Power Supply Design
  • Extremely responsive, ready to jump on the most difficult customer issues instantly
  • Good at developing relationships with internal and external engineering community
